  • Initiative boosts commuter convenience and strengthens e-commerce logistics
  • Follows successful deployment of 25,000 lockers across Delhi Metro

AutoPe has partnered with Mumbai Metro One to roll out smart-locker services across 12 stations, marking a major step toward improving daily travel and strengthening urban logistics. The company has installed 996 smart lockers, aiming to provide secure, quick, and convenient storage options for more than 5 lakh commuters who use the metro every day.

The new locker network builds on AutoPe’s large-scale success in Delhi, where it operates 25,000 lockers across 250 metro stations. With this experience, the company is now working closely with leading e-commerce players to streamline first- and last-mile delivery, reduce delivery delays, and support more sustainable logistics in high-traffic urban zones.

The smart lockers allow commuters to store personal items or collect online orders during their metro trips, reducing dependency on home-deliveries and lowering last-mile emissions. The system also opens new engagement opportunities for brands and helps metros strengthen non-fare revenue. AutoPe’s technology, already integrated with the Delhi Metro’s Sarathi app, supports digital ticketing, last-mile connectivity tools, and advanced payment systems, showcasing its capability to handle high-volume transit environments.

Although Mumbai Metro’s wider network rollout is still under discussion, AutoPe’s deployment across 12 stations marks a strong starting point. The initiative aligns with India’s smart-city and 'One Nation One App' vision, reinforcing the company’s commitment to creating scalable, interoperable mobility solutions. AutoPe also plans to expand its portfolio in Mumbai using its Delhi experience, offering enhanced ticketing platforms, mobility integrations, and new revenue-generating services to support future urban transport systems.
