It’s almost three years to go for the most awaited FIFA 2022 World Cup! Exhibiting a canvas alike façade and with a capacity of 60,000 seats, Al Bayt Stadium, Qatar is the next host of this spectacular tournament, which will be opening up this year. The Building Information Modeling (BIM) expert actively involved in the magnificent structure of Al Bayt Stadium is Noidabased SABS Architects & Engineers Pvt. Ltd. Besides this, Khalifa International Stadium and Lusail Iconic Stadium poised at Qatar are other projects which add to the BIM excellence of SABS. Bhasker Neogi, Director, SABS Architects & Engineers, elucidates, “Since the time of its establishment in 2004, SABS has been endeavouring to outclass as one of the leading offshore BIM production units for AEC industries across the globe”. SABS owns a well equipped studio capable of executing a comprehensive range of BIM services for Architecture, Interior Design, and all other allied building engineering services like Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting and Signage. So far, the firm has delivered ample projects for clients poised across Qatar, Middle East, North Africa, UK and the US. Especially in Qatar with its
Government currently mandating BIM at every stage of project delivery, has given SABS the biggest advantage of delivering BIM at all levels & aspects of various projects.

Sabs often deploys its staff at offshore client’s site to gain greater insights on their project requirements

InHouse Expertise at All Project Stages
In a country like India with burgeoning population and scant land resources, SABS believes that opting BIM will deliver optimum utilization across all phases of projects, be it pre construction, construction or post construction. With extensive in house expertise, the firm kick-starts its BIM projects from collaboration and document setup level, wherein a BIM plan is formulated in consultation with all of client’s stakeholders. The firm also deploys most of its staff at offshore client’s site to gain greater insights on their project requirements.

Post this, BIM authoring is performed, wherein the BIM model is detailed to the level of development in tune with the client’s project requirements. Later, interference checks, analysis and construction simulations are carried out to extract maximum information from the BIM model, and thus, prevent glitches during construction. Even post construction, the BIM model is updated with as built information & data, which can further be utilized for facility management services.

Harnessing Latest Technologies
SABS has been investing heavily in the latest hardware & software across its projects, primarily Autodesk Suite of BIM products to accomplish research and solution finding tasks. While the Autodesk’s technical team supports these tasks, the firm’s team also proactively participates in all of its events in India. Further, clients are kept updated on their project’s status at each stage through cloud based technologies.

To stay in conformance with project deliverable schedules, SABS seamlessly trains its newly appointed staff, often in collaboration with software vendors. The entire team also stays abreast of latest technological developments and statutory changes in the BIM industry across the globe through its offshore counterparts who travel to India to conduct training sessions & workshops.

Recently, SABS has witnessed a turnover of Rs.25 million across its offshore BIM projects. The firm plans to expand its footprint in the Indian market, besides shifting its entire workflow process to cloud very soon for smoother collaboration and greater security.
